About Marc Wenger
Bioprocess R&D principal scientist with combined 20+ years experience in process and analytical development. Currently a people manager in the Department of Vaccine Process Development at Merck, leading two teams responsible for High Throughput Process Development (HTPD) and downstream process development of a viral vaccine. As a member of the department senior staff, participate in or lead special departmental projects including scientific symposia, innovation initiatives, licensing due diligence activities, and capital planning. Process engineering core competency in downstream processing, particularly process chromatography, as well as in laboratory automation (robotic liquid handling platforms) and high-throughput process development. Current focus on designing and implementing upstream cell culture process development screening tools, including plate-based and mini-bioreactor HTPD platforms.Analytical competency includes assay development, assay validation, product characterization, cGMP release and stability testing, process monitoring, and assay automation, with experience in HPLC, immunoassays, mass spectrometry, and high-throughput assay formats. 10 years of experience as a people manager and/or group lead of junior and senior staff scientists.
