As Assistant Manager, the role consists of managing and administrating multiple (5) Citrix Virtual Apps and Desktops environments (2500 concurrent sessions daily), and using Ivanti User Workspace Manager to enforce lockdowns.Requests for action are received directly from the business, through service desk escalation, SCOM alerting, as well as ad hoc proactive maintenance.Production environments are split between two datacentres utilising Microsoft Hyper V / SCVMM technology. Security and process is very much a priority, with stringent patching requirements and compliance responsibilities to adhere to.Key Projects:• XenApp / XenDesktop 7.8 farm capacity expansion• NetScaler migration to Microsoft MFA• XenApp 7.15 farm in place upgrade and FAS installation• XenDesktop 7.17 farm creation including Ivanti UWM 2018.3• Citrix Desktops farm in place upgrade to 1912 LTSR• Citrix Apps and Desktops on Azure POC• Datacentre hardware migrationKey Tasks:• Citrix Apps and Desktops management• Citrix Provisioning Services management• Citrix in place upgrades• Citrix license management• NetScaler management• NetScaler firmware updates• Ivanti UWM management and upgrades• Microsoft SCVMM administration, troubleshooting and support• Microsoft SCVMM hypervisor host patching• Windows and vendor specific patching• L3 Citrix and Application support• Health check / capacity management reporting• DR testing• Technical root cause analysis• Technical documentation• Vendor escalation• Active Directory management• Group policy management • Provide technical solutions for requests, incidents and escalated problem records• Liaising with teams and external stakeholders to co-ordinate solutions• Implementing security counter measures• Adhering to change and release management procedures• Abiding by ITIL methodologies• Training junior team members
