ABOUT MARC LUNN

I am a skilled and experienced Chartered Accountant (trained with KPMG) with over 25 years experience in the profession and industry now specialising in interim roles. My varied experience gives me a great toolbox of skills that enables me to adapt to the varied challenges that interim roles bring and to add value from day 1. My experience includes 8 years in the food industry with Arla Foods plc and Express Dairies plc. I also worked for 5 years as CFO and Director of Picsolve International Ltd, a £18M turnover international group operating in the leisure industry and backed by Private Equity, when I managed the business through a secondary PE-backed MBO. In 2012 I made another big change - this time into Education as Head of Finance of what was then Central College Nottingham and achieved a turnaround of the struggling finance department. After an initial brief foray into Interim work, I joined MHA (£180M T/O) as Group FC in January 2014. In January 2016 I joined the £12m business-wide transformation programme as Finance Lead. Following the closure of this programme I decided to return to interim work. I went to Pattonnair in December 2017 for an initial 3-month assignment and ended up staying over 10 months, working on a private equity transaction including statutory accounts and a reporting software re-launch using Cognos Controller. After a brief stint at British Midland I went to Doncasters Group working on group consolidation and statutory accounts (IFRS and FRS 102), where I worked for 2 years. Most recently I have been at Eternis Fine Chemicals in Leek since June 2021, supporting the team on all financial accounting matters. Specialties: I am technically competent with recent experience of complex group accounts. I am good at improving processes, general change management, system design and accounts function restructuring. I am flexible & adaptable, able to add value across a wide range of business sectors. I have recent experience of working with private equity, including experience of financing and business aquisition. I am a good communicator and enjoy working as part of a team and with non-accountants. No permanent positions please - I work on an interim basis as a contractor.
