In my role as Crisis Line Training Specialist, I am responsible for the development, delivery, and evaluation of training programs. These programs are designed to ensure new volunteers, staff Crisis Counselors, and Shift Supervisors succeed in their roles. My core duties include- Mentoring lead: Coordinate the crisis line training mentoring program. Identify and recruit strong experienced counselors and shift supervisors and assign them to new trainees. Ensure mentor meetings run smoothly and track trainee progress. Created and streamlined a new mentor evaluation in collaboration with the Curriculum and Program Managers- Onboarding & Training: Leading comprehensive training sessions for new volunteers and staff using evidence-based best practices in mental health services. This includes preparing and delivering engaging lectures, facilitating role-playing exercises, taking live calls in class for trainees to hear, and fostering an interactive learning environment- Ongoing Development: Regularly assessing trainee progress through evaluations and feedback, and providing additional support or targeted training to ensure skill mastery and confidence in their roles. Support continuing education efforts for a frontline work force of 350+ crisis counselors and shift supervisors - Volunteer Recruitment & Interviews: Assisting in the recruitment process by conducting interviews and screening potential volunteers, ensuring alignment with organizational values and the needs of the front line team.
