Collaborated with the Superintendent and Senior Cabinet to provide strategic direction in dealing with COVID-19 pandemic. Worked with outside counsel, financial advisors and Wall Street at securing $13.6 million in bond funds. Provided vision to project managers, contractors and facilities staff on the new construction projects resulting from the bond money. Oversaw the automations of the procurement bidding process, absence management, electronic signatures and cash collection. Directing the fiscal functions of the school district in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles and school district policy. These functions include financial analysis, internal and external reporting, cash management, budgeting, financial accounting, financial forecasting, purchasing, contract administration, payroll, operations and infrastructure, technology, state and federal programs and fringe benefits. Overseeing transportation, operations, school construction, athletics, emergency preparedness and food service. • Governed a multi-faceted team to ensure SPS students could return to school safely amid the pandemic. The team consisted of operational staff members, nurses, architects, custodial contractors, transportation contractors and food service contractors. • Judiciously formulated a spending plan with the Superintendent, Senior Cabinet and staff members for our $5.2 million in coronavirus relief funds. The funds were primarily used for personal protective equipment and technology to assist with remote learning. • Confidently coordinated with outside counsel, financial advisors and Moody’s Investor Service to develop a proposal where SPS would receive a one-time $13.6 million payment in exchange for nine future annual sinking fund payments. The proposal passed unanimously. • Organized a team of district staff, project managers, architects and engineers working on capital improvement projects resulting from the $13.6 million. The projects are still ongoing.
