About Marc Dugas
As the Global Advanced Manufacturing Engineering Senior Manager at Vertiv, I lead the modernization of our manufacturing engineering organization and systems to drive innovation, scalability, and operational excellence across global operations. My mission is to build a future-ready manufacturing ecosystem that supports Vertiv’s commitment to reliability and sustainability in critical infrastructure.Previously, as a Technical Specialist at Ford Motor Company, I identified and implemented benchmark technologies for battery pack assembly, contributing to Ford’s electrification strategy. With over 20 years of experience in manufacturing and process engineering, I bring a deep passion for creating efficient, flexible, and sustainable solutions for the automotive and industrial sectors. My approach is grounded in systems thinking, particularly the principle of POSIWID (The Purpose of a System is What It Does), as defined by Stafford Beer. I use this philosophy to align system outputs with strategic goals—ensuring that what a system does reflects what it should do.I’ve led and contributed to global engine and battery assembly programs across the USA, Mexico, Canada, Brazil, India, and China. Notably, I designed and implemented flexible assembly systems capable of handling multiple engine architectures—including two diesel and one gasoline engine—on a single line.At Ford, I also reimagined the Assembly Bill of Process for battery and cell-to-pack assembly and published over 20 patents while leading the design of the lowest SqFt/JPH battery manufacturing footprint in Ford’s history.I thrive in diverse, cross-functional teams and am always eager to explore new technologies, challenge conventional thinking, and deliver results that matter.
