About Marc Chambers

Marc\'s overall philosophy of and approach to architectural practice invokes the following two primary tenets:First, the architect must understand and adopt the client\'s goals, aspirations, and priorities as his own. This is the basis for successful client service.Second, the architect must embrace and take full advantage of the fact that architectural practice is, at its foundation, a collaborative process. In this way, the experience and abilities of all the project team members can be brought to bear on the task(s) at hand, with the ultimate goals being overall project success and client satisfaction.Marc has extensive experience managing and designing projects of a variety of types including K-12 Education, Higher Education, Commercial Office, Civic and Cultural (Museums and Libraries), and Health Care. Typical project construction budgets that Marc has worked on recently range from $ 5 million to over $ 150 million.Marc has special experience in evaluating and assessing existing facilities to assist in Master Planning, Programming, and/or developing official Design Narrative documents, and then implementing these into actual construction projects. Marc\'s specific experience includes feasibility and code analysis such as Chapter 34 evaluations and use of North Carolina Existing Buildings Code to find best approach for projects. In short, Marc excels at \"messy\" addition and renovation projects, including those where complex phasing, difficult code issues, and/or a high degree of technical accomplishment is required.In addition to these areas of more specialized expertise, Marc is also accomplished in all phases of project development and production, from schematic or conceptual design all the way through to drawing production, detailing, specifications, and construction administration. Marc\'s experience with working with codes and regulatory officials means that his projects are often able to receive required approvals and pass through the permitting process with a minimum of comments and delays.
