About Mara Williams

I am passionate about supporting quality initiatives in the medical lab and in our manufacturing partners. At Kaiser Santa Clara Medical Center, my role included designing a quality management plan and managing quality investigations for Anatomic Pathology. I also managed our outpatient draw center in Milpitas for 3 years. As Manager, I was responsible for making sure our lab was inspection ready and that our safety and training SOPs were compliant and updated. As the program director at Hershey Medical Center, Neumann University and at San Jose State University, I designed and delivered courses in quality systems/lab management, immunohematology, immunology, hematology, hemostasis, molecular diagnostics, microbiology and physiology. These were designed for undergraduate and graduate students, using adult learning principles and online platforms. I also arranged and supervised internships in area hospitals for MLS students, ensuring compliance with program requirements and NAACLS standards. My specialties include clinical laboratory science, distance education, online learning, hematology, microbiology, and molecular diagnostics. I am committed to helping my students achieve their professional goals and to supporting quality patient care.
