About Mara Heckman Murphy
I have a wide range of experience in the quality field. I have worked with multiple products (steel, plastics, rubber, heat treat, extrusion, assembly, welding, etc.). I have worked with every OEM in a PPAP and support role. I have worked at several startup or smaller facilities which have allowed me to work with project lead roles, wearing many hats in the quality field such as lead audit roles, gage and calibration, measurement systems analysis, as well as IMDS. I am fortunate to have worked both as the leader of the group and as a support role. I recently worked in a large facility and was tasked with being the group leader working to improve the systems and performance of the overall facility and keeping the momentum and teamwork going within our group in order to keep gaining traction and reducing the number of days a corrective action sits on the books open.I have worked with customers to identify more appropriate inspection methods to reduce and eliminate reoccurring issues. While I worked at MSSC- we had 18 defect free product launches and I was part of a team who won a World Excellence- Recognition of Achievement award from Ford Motor Company for our work to use six sigma to reduce defects by performing and using the results of a DOE to identify the best parameters for the implementation of a new technology process. We were also able to win both a Honda Quality award and a Delivery award for our continued delivery of on time quality product.I am currently employed as a Quality Engineer in the Valeo Lighting facility in Seymour Indiana. In this role I provide support in our Business Unit to ensure the Valeo Quality Standards are met, and our customers needs are met.Specialties: Working with launch activity, encouraging hands on engagement, championing \"go and see\" activities and encouraging team communication.
