I work at the front lines of mental health and community care, supporting Jewish Family Services, The Counselling Group, and The Walk-In Clinic through a shared reception and administrative role. I help clients access counselling (walk-in and ongoing), coordinate bookings, respond to inquiries, and connect people to the right resources—all while managing a very active inbox, phone line and appointment calendar. It’s part people-facing, part backend logistics, and fully about making support feel accessible, organised, and human. Along the way, I’ve learned how nonprofits operate behind the scenes, how to handle high-pressure situations with empathy, and how much work really goes into creating safe, welcoming spaces.

I currently work at the front desk for Jewish Family Services of Ottawa—supporting both The Counselling Group and the Walk-In Clinic—where I assist with ongoing counselling, walk-in mental health support, community-based services, and everything in between. I’m often the first point of contact for clients, whether they’re booking an appointment, seeking support, or simply needing a kind voice on the other end of the phone.Outside the office, I’m a civil engineering student passionate about on-site construction and creating building systems—both literal and social—that work for people and the environment. I’m enthusiastic about bringing good intentions and energy into everything I do.I’m also exploring the trades, currently enrolled in Welding and Fabrication Techniques at Algonquin College, adding practical hands-on skills to complement my engineering background.
