Report to Executive Vice President Global Mining Segment. Responsible for leading the successful operations of two companies, namely ArcelorMittal Mining (AMMC) and ArcelorMittal Infrastructure (AMIC) in Quebec. The two companies employ 2,800 people, making ArcelorMittal the biggest employer on the North Shore of Canada.AMMC operates the largest open-pit iron ore mine in Canada and produces concentrate and iron oxide pellets for the steel market. AMIC ensures the transportation of concentrate between Mont-Wright and Port-Cartier, and operates a seaport at Port-Cartier, allowing transportation and shipping of AMMC products to four continents. KPI’s: Accountable for the vision and strategic direction of two company’s encompassing; corporate governance, leadership and organisational culture, financial oversight, operational effectiveness, talent development, investor relations, stakeholder engagement, sustainability initiatives, and corporate social responsibility. Formulated and implemented the Health and Safety strategy achieving Zero Fatalities, and a successful Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) strategy for the decarbonisation of AMMC mine operations. Developed a solid strategy that ensured business continuity and economic life of asset for the next 30 years. Ensured growth through investment in low capex intensity projects that increases recovery and hence grow the final production from 25MT to 30 MT, and ensured product value add to meet decarbonation demands.Achievements: Increased productivity by 8.4% between 2021 to 2024.
