About Manzure Mawla
Dr. Manzure Mawla is the Stroke Medical Director for Ascension Seton Medical Center, a comprehensive stroke center in the Greater Austin Area. He has a comprehensive background in vascular neurology, acute stroke care, outpatient stroke prevention, stroke in the young, and general neurology. He has a special interest in using advanced neuroscience-imaging for acute stroke treatment and stroke prevention. Dr. Mawla aspires to provide comprehensive stroke care to the Central Texas community starting from initial admittance to long term outpatient followup. Dr. Mawla is also the hospital lead for Ascension Seton Brain & Spine Institute. He oversees all in patient matters pertaining to neurology care for the Central Texas Ascension network. Dr. Mawla is also an Assistant Professor of Neurology at UT Austin Dell Medical School. He educates medical students and residents on clinical expertise in neurology and stroke care. Furthermore, he is an active investigator on multiple clinical stroke trials. Dr. Mawla graduated from UT Austin with a Bachelor’s in Business Administration and a Masters in Professional Accounting. After college, he went on to work for PwC and Deloitte before pursing his passion in medicine. He graduated from LECOM and proceeded to UT Austin Dell Medical School for his residency in general neurology, where he also served as chief resident. From there he went to the National Institute of Health (NIH) for a fellowship in vascular neurology.In his free time, Dr. Mawla enjoys traveling, live music, basketball, watching Longhorn sports, and spending time with his family.
