   NHRA: Championship Drag Racing

   Aug 1980 — Present

   Responding to incidents at the race facility, as a member of the safety response team, we care for the injured people (on and off track), extricate from damaged race vehicles, extinguish fires and restore the track racing surface for further competition. Part of the safety team role is to develop a good rapport with the competitors, crew members and officials and to encourage safe practices and proper use of protective equipment. I also assist in training new local first responders in the unique characteristics associated with the various competition vehicles.
