ABOUT MANSOOR SHAMS

As a strategic leader and consultant with a deep commitment to cross-cultural understanding and dialogue, I drive transformative initiatives through media engagement and thought leadership. As the Founder of MuslimMarine.org, I have established and lead an organization dedicated to countering hate and fostering interfaith dialogue. My role involves orchestrating high-impact media strategies, including over 100 interviews with major outlets such as CNN, NPR, PBS, ARY, BBC, and Al Jazeera. These efforts have been instrumental in shaping narratives of unity and combating misinformation on both national and international platforms. My thought leadership is further reflected in my influential op-eds, published in leading media such as Newsweek, CNN, and the Baltimore Sun. Through these writings, I address critical societal issues and contribute to shaping public discourse. I am also a sought-after speaker, delivering keynote addresses and presentations to diverse audiences, including educational institutions, military organizations, and government agencies. In my role as Director of Public Affairs for the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community, I oversee strategic community outreach and manage high-profile events, engaging with senior leaders from government, military, and civic sectors. My strategic initiatives include directing impactful external programs and cultivating key partnerships to advance community objectives. As a Term Member of the Council on Foreign Relations, I collaborate with top officials, diplomats, and thought leaders to address global challenges and influence policy discussions. Additionally, I serve as an Adjunct Professor at the University of Baltimore, where I guide the next generation of leaders in writing and critical thinking. My experience also includes a short stint as a Wealth Advisor at J.P. Morgan Wealth Management, several years managing my own small business (the export of consumer electronic and accessories) and revenues of $10+ million dollars alongside a separate domestic retail business of four T-Mobile store locations across two states established from the ground up. My foundational roles at the SEC and the U.S. Marine Corps provided me with a strong background in regulatory compliance and human resources. With a demonstrated ability to lead strategic communication, manage high-stakes projects, and engage with diverse stakeholders, I am dedicated to leveraging my expertise to drive impactful change and foster meaningful connections across global communities.
