About Mansi Shukla
Passionate about the intersection of law, technology, and human rights, I am a UGC-NET JRF qualified researcher currently pursuing my Ph.D. at Banasthali Vidyapith, focusing on Artificial Intelligence and the legal liability arising from harm caused by AI systems.My research has received international recognition, including a Gold Medal from the Asian Criminology Society for my work on AI in the criminal justice system, where I proposed a model demonstrating how AI can enhance criminal justice delivery. I also received publication support from the Dr. Ambedkar International Centre, Ministry of Social Justice, for my study on how AI empowers differently-abled individuals — a subject close to me as a differently-abled individual myself. I have presented at over 15 international conferences on themes such as AI ethics, data privacy, IPR, and constitutional and human rights, and have received Best Research Paper awards at some of them.Beyond academia, I actively engage in policy advocacy at the international level, contributing to discussions on AI regulation, gender justice, and the rights of marginalized communities through multilateral platforms and working groups. I was honoured with the Best Performer Award in the DPCW Discussion Handbook Project by HWPL, a peace organization in consultative status with UN ECOSOC and associated with the UN Department of Global Communications.A former winner in national Moot Court, MUN, Client Counselling, and Mediation competitions, I now serve as a judge and mentor in national-level legal competitions.My academic interests lie in technology law with a focus on AI, digital governance, and data privacy, with human rights at the core of all my work.
