ABOUT MANPRIT KAUR

As a first-generation college student majoring in Biology on the pre-med track, with minors in Chemistry and Spanish, I am pursuing a path that reflects both ambition and purpose. I’m deeply motivated to become a compassionate, culturally aware physician who not only treats patients but also advocates for equity and representation in medicine. Volunteering at my local hospital has shown me how impactful genuine human connection is in healthcare. Through patient interactions and clinical exposure, I’ve developed a deeper appreciation for both the science and the soul of medicine. My involvement in MAPS (Minority Association of Pre-Medical Students), Circle K, and (HBO) Honors Bloomington Outreach has allowed me to grow alongside peers who share a commitment to diversifying the future of healthcare. Fluent in Punjabi and learning Spanish, I hope to bridge cultural and language barriers in clinical settings and provide care that respects and reflects the communities I serve. As a proud member of the Sikh community, I aspire to be a voice and a presence in medicine that uplifts those who are often underrepresented in this field. I believe my identity, resilience, and curiosity uniquely position me to not only succeed in medicine, but to help transform it, making it more inclusive, more human, and more just.
