ABOUT MANOJ TAPADIA

With a deep passion for storytelling, Manoj Tapadia has built a distinguished career in both the Indianadvertising and film industries. Born in Rourkela and raised in Raipur, his early fascination withliterature, poetry, cinema, and music set the foundation for his creative journey.After graduating, Manoj moved to Mumbai in 1997, where he began his career in advertising. Over thenext 15 years, he rose from Junior Copywriter to Creative Lead at Lowe Lintas, handling globalduties for brands such as Unilever’s Lifebuoy, along with several other prestigious accounts like Liril,Hamam, Bajaj, ICICI Mutual Fund, and more. His campaigns, such as Lifebuoy’s Little Gandhi and USAID’sBindas Bol, won numerous accolades, including Grand and Gold Effies.In 2011, Manoj transitioned into directing, initially while still at Lintas, and later as an independentfilmmaker. With over 100 films to his credit, his directorial work spans renowned brands including Dove,Dettol, Tata Tea, HDFC, Maggi, and Spanish Government’s Ministry of Health, among others. He hasbeen a part of over 500 ad films in various roles – as a writer, creative head, and director.Beyond advertising, Manoj has contributed to the Indian film industry as a screenwriter, dialogue writer,and lyricist. His notable works include feature films like Cheeni Kum, Manorama Six Feet Under, Mai,Madras Café, and Saala Khadoos.Currently, Manoj continues to Write, Direct and produce TV commercials and is actively involved in writing feature filmscripts for leading directors and production houses, while working on his debut feature film as adirector. At heart, Manoj is a storyteller—bringing narratives to life through the lens, words, and verses.
