About Manohar Sai Alapati

As a Graduate Research Assistant at the Human Sensing Lab of CMU, I am passionate about applying Machine Learning and Data Science to solve real-world problems. I am currently researching on methods for robustifying models for object detection on satellite images, using techniques such as stable diffusion and large language models. I am also actively looking for summer internships that will allow me to further develop my skills and explore new domains. I have a strong background in both industry and academia, having worked as a Data Scientist at Jio Platforms Limited and a Machine Learning Intern at Enterpret. I have contributed to various projects involving computer vision, natural language processing, audio intelligence, and recommendation systems, using cutting-edge technologies such as transformers, mixture of experts, and MLOps. I have also published and patented some of my work in and other platforms. I hold a Bachelor of Technology degree with honors in Electrical, Electronics and Communications Engineering from Indian Institute of Information Technology, SriCity, where I also developed an interest in reinforcement learning, control systems, and robotics. I built a self-balancing robot based on PID controllers and Q-networks that won the second prize in a national symposium. I am eager to learn more and expand my horizons in the field of artificial intelligence and data science.
