My career has been oriented around two principal objectives: Solve compelling problems at scale, and Make universities better, kinder, more efficient, and more equitable. With a background as an award-winning scholar, researcher, and educator, I approach my work with a multi-disciplinary lens and a systems-thinking mindset - but with the continuous resolution to never let the technical dimensions of a problem obscure the humanity at the heart of the institutions I serve. Higher education is in the business of proliferating knowledge and expanding human capacity, to serve the common good. Universities are learning communities first and foremost. My sense of mission originates in the spirit of stewardship and is guided by a single inquiry: What else can we make possible?
