Wired Ethernet 802.3) LAN product specialist. Focus areas include LAN/endpoint integration, performance/cost/power optimization, low-latency, real-time and embedded network applications, product security specialist, network virtualization for SDN and NFV, SmartNICs and network SoCs, and extensive experience in network offload architectures of various kinds such as TCP and IPSec offload, and host integration of Ethernet switching. Created the Open-AVB project, now sponsored by AVnu, which is a community supported project for Audio/Video Bridging (AVB) and Time Sensitive Networking (TSN) technologies. Past experience also included RFIC driver support as debug & test of RF designs with associated test equipment for 802.16d (WiMAX) products. Development experience with variety of operating systems - Windows, Linux, FreeBSD, VxWorks - and a variety of processor architectures - Intel Architecture, X-Scale, ARM7, ARM8 (N1). Industry contributions include active participation in ECMA, NIST, AVnu and Energy Star standard development. Lastly, previous experience managing a team of very talented software engineers developing network drivers, as well as direction to experienced hardware validation teams.
