About Manjul Raj

Being the curious child looking to understand why things are the way they are, I grew up into being a Product and Growth professional who loves listening to stories (of users and authors alike), understand the working and challenges of products and solve them for ease of the consumers. During college days, since my 1st year, where our team won 3rd position in intra-college robot football competition, I dove headfirst into applying my curiosity and logical skills in myriad of ways. This led to me leading Spirit (India\'s largest pharmaceutical conclave) 2018 as convener, leading a team of 100+ members, making it one of the most successful versions with the highest footfall ever recorded in the available data of prior versions. Tried and failed starting up twice. First time, being in 2nd year of college where we sought out to build a one-stop platform for all social and professional networking sites at one place, merging their feeds at one place for better management. Build a nascent prototype and learnt basic web development for the same but failed due to improper team dynamics.Second time, tried to build a growth consultancy service but failed due to existence of more experienced and proficient consultancies in the same space. Professionally, I initiated my career in OYO where I solved for growth by developing first principle solutions. Led the project for building an industry-first image rating algorithm resulting in increased listing page to booking conversion. Further, led the development of rating and reviews section on OYO app which incorporates building a review curation model moderating abusive content and providing recommendations for operations teams to work towards for better service delivery.After stint at OYO, I joined Apollo247 where I lead revenue growth for Online Consultation category at Apollo247. Being the 3rd hire in growth team, built up processes, projects and products from scratch leading to increased consultations.Post Apollo247, I took a career break to introspect and figure out my plan for next 10-15 years. However, while doing so I also simultaneously built various products such as personal knowledge management system using Notion (led to issuance of Notion Essentials badge by Notion HQ), Reading Management Flow alongside working as a volunteer consultant with WeDoGood, where I helped BPN Agrolive (Social Sector startup) build up a growth strategy.    As an Officer Trainee of the Indian Defence Accounts Service (IDAS), I am currently undergoing a rigorous professional training program aimed at mastering Public Financial Management within the Defence sector.Key Focus Areas:Professional Training: Undergoing comprehensive classroom training at NADFM, Pune, covering Civil Service Regulations, Financial Regulations, Defence Account Codes, and General Financial Rules (GFR).Field Attachments (OJT): Gaining practical exposure through attachments with various Field Pay Accounts Offices (PAOs), Defence Public Sector Undertakings (DPSUs), and Command Headquarters of the Army, Navy, and Air Force.Audit & Accounting: Studying the mechanisms of internal audit, store accounting, and pay accounting systems for Service Officers and Other Ranks (ORs).Systems Exposure: Familiarizing with IT projects and digital payment platforms (like SPARSH) used in defence pensions and accounting.
