ABOUT MANJIT SINGH

I joined Bradford Council in the highways section in 1991, i learn about basic highways and worked on traffic geared schemes. I moved to the traffic signals team in 1996 as a technician, i was thrown in at the deep end but had the chance to work on all the schemes coming out of bradford council big and small, the biggest highlight back then was the guided bus way which involved 19 sets of lights. I slowly progressed to Senior Engineer and worked on pretty much ever scheme out of Bradford. I have purchased and commissioned ANPR systems and cameras, VMS signs Car park signs, Wireless networks, Blutruth detectors, Fibre networks and of course Traffic signal installations over the years. Recently i help deliver Bradfords CLean Air Zone. I progressed to Principal Engineer in 2016. I control fairly large budgets and manage capital and revenue spend aswell as coordinate schemes and manpower to deliver the best possible solutions to keep bradford traffic and people moving safely. Bradford council has miles of fibre network and over 375 sets of signals all of which are LED and ELV. We have over 200 utc cameras.
