ABOUT MANJARI SINGH
Microbiologist / Toxicologist/ Biological Fermentation Versatile, analytical, and highly experienced in areas of bacterial, biofuel fermentation (stirred tank bioreactors), aerobic, anaerobic culturing of bacteria, genetic manipulation of yeast, and cell-based permeability assays using mammalian cells (Caco2). Trained to handle BSL 2 organisms. Evolved bacteria and yeast catalyst using bioreactors and mutagenesis techniques. Immensely motivated with strong technical skills in the use of HPLC and GC, isolation and identification using 16s of novel strains with special characteristics from various sources. Biofuel work has awarded several patents and bioremediation work resulted in publications and presentation of several research papers. Areas of Expertise include: Experimental: • Operated 5L and 1500 gallon fermenters for production of Bacillus spores for various clients to be used in environmentally friendly products sold commercially. Responsible for fermentation of four- 4L stirred tank reactors weekly, involved processing and spray drying of spores and treating the spores with the Envera’s patented GO technology • Culturing and maintenance of Caco2 cell lines, cell immobilization techniques, permeability assays, in vitro models under GMP and GLP guidelines. • Aseptic aerobic and anaerobic culturing, isolation techniques for yeast and bacteria, molecular biology, PCR, 16s, microscopy, bacterial and yeast transformations, fusions, genetic manipulation by sporulation, mass mating. Enumeration technique for bacteria using pour plate method • Bacterial and yeast mutagenesis studies using (UV),(NTG),(EMS) Safety: Hazards associated with biological, chemical and radioactive materials, BSL-2 Analytical Techniques: Operation of spray dryer unit for bacterial spore production, HPLC, GC, UV spectroscopy Software: Microsoft PowerPoint, Excel, Word, and equipment inter-phase programs
