At Silox, I am presently overseeing the Materials Function across four manufacturing sites in India. Leading a team of three direct reports and twenty indirect reports, I ensure effective management of these critical functions, while driving sustainability efforts to ensure compliance with environmental standards and regulations.I spearhead the management of this substantial expenditure, focusing on cost optimization, vendor management, and procurement strategies. I lead the implementation of process enhancements and automation, including an automated purchase order (PO) generation and approval process. By streamlining workflows and reducing manual interventions, I significantly optimized the materials management function, improving efficiency and driving operational excellence.Furthermore, I steer the implementation of strategies and practices to optimize inventory levels, striking the right balance between stock availability and minimizing carrying costs and inventory write-offs. Utilizing data analysis and forecasting techniques, I optimized inventory management processes. Additionally consolidated C Class spent by contracting with a single vendor, leveraging negotiation strategies to achieve additional savings. By centralizing logistics expenditure with a single service provider, achieved cost savings. Also contributed to reducing the carbon footprint by KT/year through the implementation of a renewable power purchase agreement, resulting in an energy cost saving of 14.5% per unit purchased.
