Perform PAUT InspectionsConduct Phased Array Ultrasonic Testing (PAUT) on welds, other structural piping materials. Utilize PAUT equipment for flaw detection, sizing, and characterization. Conduct manual or semi-automated scans as per job specifications. Data Analysis & InterpretationAnalyze A-scan, B-scan, C-scan, and S-scan data.Interpret scan results in accordance with applicable standards (ASME, API, ISO, etc.).Identify and size discontinuities such as lack of fusion, porosity, or cracks. Documentation & ReportingPrepare detailed inspection reports, scan logs, and defect maps.Ensure that all documentation meets client and regulatory requirements.Maintain traceable records for audits and client reviews. Equipment HandlingSet up, calibrate, and verify PAUT instruments and probes before inspections. Ensure correct calibration blocks and focal laws are used for each job. Perform routine maintenance and ensure all equipment is in working condition. Compliance with Standards Follow approved NDT procedures in compliance with codes such as:ASME API ISO AWS D1.1 6. Team Collaboration Work with QA/QC teams, welding inspectors, and site engineers to coordinate inspection activities. Support and guide junior technicians or PAUT assistants on site. Attend toolbox talks and safety meetings as required. Safety and Site Compliance Follow all site-specific safety regulations, permit-to-work systems, and PPE requirements. Participate in hazard identification and risk assessments. Ensure safe handling of equipment in hazardous or confined environments. Quality Assurance Support internal and external audits with accurate records and testing traceability. Contribute to continuous improvement in inspection procedures and quality systems. Participate in procedure development and review, especially for customized inspection setups.
