About Maneesha Horshin
I am a recent MPP graduate at UCLA Luskin pursuing racial and economic justice policy in the DC area. Specifically, I am passionate about reducing barriers for underserved populations in the workforce and eliminating income and wealth disparities using education, community-centered approaches, and targeted economic policies. I work towards finding innovative solutions that challenge existing, global capitalist models through an intersectional lens of race, gender, and class. I hope to advance qualitative research and promote advocacy that explores expanding tax credits, subsidizing child care, and providing greater protections in the workplace, particularly for women of color. Previously, I worked with workforce development agencies like Goodwill Southern California and the Los Angeles County Economic Development Corporation (LAEDC), working with disenfranchised populations like the unhoused and formerly incarcerated.
