   Pittsfield Township is the 9th most diverse and among the top 25 places to live in the State of Michigan!I have a decisive leadership style that is based on building strong partnerships to first articulate and then implement a collective vision to promote equity and sustainability.As Pittsfield Township Supervisor, my accomplishments include:1. Establishing a multi-modal transportation network of bike lanes, public transit, greenways, sidewalks, and mid-block crossings.2. Promoting a diverse and affordable housing stock such that Pittsfield has the most diverse housing stock in Washtenaw County.3. Implementing local food access programs that provide healthy food alternatives, especially to the food insecure on the east side of Washtenaw County.4. Providing financial support to meet the needs of the most marginalized and vulnerable such as homeless citizens, domestic violence and sexual assault survivors, and those battling mental illnesses. Making environmental preservation an integral part of the (re)development process through such programs as solar farms, electric vehicle innovation, park/open space designations, multimodal connections, local farming options, tree canopies and green infrastructure incentives, and carbon emission studies.6. Establishing historic districts, installing historic markers and mosaic gateway signs.7. Acquiring approximately $50 million, since 2009, in federal/state/county grants.8. Attracting an average of $10 million/year in new private investment (20••••21) that has not just created thousands new jobs but established a diverse employment base ranging from retail to high-techMy journey of public service has taken me from being the first immigrant to hold elected office in Washtenaw County to becoming the first woman and person of color to lead Pittsfield Township. I have recruited and help elect the most racially diverse set of elected officials in Washtenaw County to the Pittsfield Township Board of Trustees.
