About Mandala Café
Mandala Café is a Non Profit organization, based in NYC We continue to provide one weekly Community Meal in Central Harlem & one bi-weekly Community Meal in Bloomingdale/Manhattan Valley for anyone who needs it. Handing out over meals since May, 2020. Also, we provide a 12-week Culinary Training program for those with challenges to finding & keeping a job & a Catering business which provides on-the-job training plus part-time employment. Dedicated to providing food and fellowship — a place at the table for all folks, neighbors coming together to break bread and boundaries — sharing food, space and conversation.

Mandala Café, Inc. is a 501(c)(3) Nonprofit, authorized to operate in the State of New York and by the IRS, founded in 2015. We provide a 12-week Culinary Training job development program.Though open to all, there is a focus on providing support for those with \"barriers to employment”.We have worked with those who are: formerly homeless or in the shelter system, re-entrants to the Community from incarceration or in Justice Diversion programs, Veterans, Youth, lacking legal employment documentation, unemployed/ underemployed, have substance use/mental health issues and asylees.We introduce Trainees to the basics of culinary work: foods, cooking techniques, cuisines, equipment, practical aspects (invoices, recipes & scaling). We also focus on Life Skills: Meditation, Yoga, T\'ai Chi, Relaxation, Nutrition & Herbal Alternatives to help the Trainees in the job field plus their daily lives.Mandala Kitchens is also a Catering company staffed by Trainees & Graduates from the Culinary Training program as well as others from the Community. It provides part-time employment plus on-the-job Training.Since 2016, we have been providing a free weekly Community meal in Harlem. Each Wednesday, we hand out meals to anyone who would like one.We resumed our meal in May, 2020.Since then, we have bagged & handed out over meals. We have also provided over 8100 hours of Volunteer opportunities.
