About Manav Bhatia

At Google, I built from ground up the engineering team in India that\'s building the best-in-class large-scale edge computing platform that help enterprises, governments and telcos experience Google Cloud near their mission-critical workloads. Think of it as GCP on your own premises. Before that, I have designed and built L3, IP/MPLS control and data-plane architecture for massively distributed and scaled systems. Since last few years, I have been focussing on building stellar engineering teams fixated on delivering complex products end to end. I have authored ~20 IETF RFCs (standards) besides numerous other internet IETF drafts related to routing protocol enhancements, routing security, BFD, IPv6, timing distribution and MPLS. I am the co-inventor of micro-BFDs on LAGs, seamless BFD, Wrapped ESP, OSPFv3 authentication trailer, and several other innovations in the Internet routing space. I have been listed in the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) Technology Review\'s 2011 edition of TR35 list of \"outstanding innovators\" under the age of 35.

   I lead the Hardware Engineering organization for Google Distributed Cloud (GDC) and Google Mobile Packet Core, delivering the critical infrastructure that enables enterprises, governments, and telcos to leverage Google\'s cloud technology at the edge.Key Responsibilities:Hardware Leadership: Directing the strategy, development, and operations for all HW powering GDC (Connected & Air-Gapped) and Google\'s Mobile Packet Core.e2e Ownership: Responsible for the complete New Product Introduction (NPI) lifecycle and Day 0/1/2 operations, ensuring seamless deployment and fleet management.Built & Scaled 5G Core: Architected and grew the Google Mobile Packet Core team from 0 in India, successfully launched 5G, VoLTE, and VoWifi services for a tier-1 global telco, serving millions of customers. I run entire engineering and operations for this fully managed service.Pioneered Telco Data Fabric Technology: Delivered TDF, a groundbreaking technology that modernizes telco networks by breaking down data silos, enabling cost optimization and new personalized user experiences.Cross-Functional Execution: Driving execution by partnering with Product Management, Supply Chain, top-tier vendors (Dell, Nvidia, HPE, Supermicro), and nearly every engineering team across the GDC organization to launch new HW SKUs.We\'re Hiring!
