About Manas Prabhakar Bende
At an early age, my knack to question how various machinery works led me to dissect many items around the household. My father, an engineer, inspired me to pursue a career in the engineering sciences, and my curiosities of the engineering world led me to pursue a degree in Automobile Engineering.I earned my Bachelor\'s in Automobile Engineering at the University of Petroleum and Energy Studies in Dehradun, India. In 2016, I captained a team to design and build the Effi-Cycle, a tri-wheeled human-electric hybrid vehicle—applying my academic knowledge to practical mobility engineering. I also spent the summer of 2017 at the Arbella Human Performance Lab (University of Massachusetts, Amherst) on a National Science Foundation project focused on developing a virtual reality driving simulator to study driver responses under critical conditions. I began my career as a Management Trainee at Minda Stoneridge Instrument Ltd, India, where I worked on the development of instrument clusters for OEMs.I then pursued my Master\'s from Michigan Technological University, MI, with a specialization in Hybrid Vehicle Control Systems and Vehicular Communication. I gained hands-on experience in emissions testing, calibration, HIL, CAN communication, and model-based embedded systems.Currently, I work at Ford Motor Company as a HiL Interface Engineer, supporting dSPACE-based test benches for hybrid and electric propulsion systems. My responsibilities include configuring signal interfaces, executing failure mode validation, supporting test automation, and maintaining robust simulation environments aligned with Agile development workflows. Previously, I worked at APTIV as a HiL Test Engineer, validating ADAS by developing and executing automated test cases, validating perception and fusion outputs, and performing fault injection while collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure safety and system-level performance.In a nutshell, I am a Mechanical Engineering professional with hands-on experience in ADAS validation, HIL systems, electric vehicle testing, and model-based development.
