About Malyna Gómez Trujillo
I am a third-year political science, pre-law, and journalism student at George Washington University with a passion for public service and advocacy for the Latino community. Growing up in the San Francisco Bay Area, I saw firsthand the challenges faced by underserved populations, especially the farmworker community, inspiring me to pursue a career where I can make a difference at the highest levels of government. As a Cisneros Scholar, I’ve had the privilege of developing leadership skills while interning at organizations like La Clínica del Pueblo, where I worked on communications strategies to connect undocumented communities with accessible healthcare. Through my leadership roles at GW, including President of GW Folklórico, I’ve honed my ability to lead, advocate, and create change. My recent experience on the Harris-Walz campaign was particularly meaningful, and I am so honored to have played a small part in such a historic movement. My ultimate goal is to serve in a future White House administration, where I can help shape policies that uplift and empower my community at the federal level.
