I have a deep passion for building long-term relationships and embracing the diversity of people, ideas, and opportunities in the global life sciences arena.Deep and Broad Experience- 25+ years of success in positions of increasing responsibility in life science research, economic development, and business development, both domestic and international- Graduate degrees in science and business, with an MBA focused on bioscience management- Specific areas of expertise include: strategic & tactical planning, communication, project leadership, international collaboration, partnership development, B2B sales & marketing.In my current role with Cygnus Technologies, I am responsible for revenue development in the Eastern US through implementation of technical marketing and sales initiatives to drive awareness and customer engagement, and through distributor support. Prior to joining Cygnus I was the VP of BD for Metalytics, focused on using advanced metabolic flux analysis technology to elucidate and visualize complex metabolic pathways to optimize bioproduction. Before joining Metalytics I was a Managing Director with Human Capital Solutions, where I supported mid to senior-level search assignments in the biotechnology, pharmaceutical, medical device, diagnostics, contract services, and technology sectors. In addition, I was the Founding Principal of Life Science Strategies, an international strategic and tactical business and economic development firm with clients throughout the Americas, Europe and the Middle East.Prior to these roles I was a Program Director at the NC Biotechnology Center and a Business Development Manager for Life Sciences in the International Trade Division of the NC Department of Commerce, connecting NC trade offices in Canada, Europe, and Asia with NC life science firms to enable growth through export, investment, and collaboration. My success in the business of science was built upon more than a decade of research experience as a drug discovery molecular biologist with Amgen, GlaxoSmithKline and Pharmacia & Upjohn (now part of Pfizer). My scientific career primarily centered on target discovery and validation programs in oncology, infectious, neurodegenerative and metabolic diseases. I received a BS in biology and an MS in molecular biology from Western Michigan University and an MBA with an emphasis on biosciences management from North Carolina State University.
