As an everyday watchdog, I\'m always looking out for our viewers by asking tough questions of our leaders and holding those in power accountable. By requesting invoices, I discovered that the city of La Crosse had reimbursed contractors for thousands of dollars in expensive hotel, food, and liquor charges. By demanding answers, I recovered nearly $4,500 for taxpayers and exposed a system that allowed this to happen. In Portland, I brought a city councilor to an abandoned homeless encampment. He, in turn, was able to get the parks department to clean up literal tons of trash on public property. In this case, I found that the problem had been reported years prior. Recently, I exposed how a small town accused a property owner of completing 500 feet of shoreline work entirely without a permit. This incident occurred on Sebago Lake, which supplies drinking water to 16% of the state. Moreover, the same property owner has been accused of similar work on another nearby lake in the past.
