As the first Venture Talent Manager at Invest Ottawa, I lead the design and delivery of a new Venture Talent Service, supporting 600+ start-ups and scale-ups across the National Capital Region – including some of the fastest growing companies in Canada. My work supports founders and leadership teams to attract, recruit, and retain the talent they need to grow, while directly promoting job creation and economic development in Ottawa’s tech ecosystem.• Talent Advisory: Provide 1:1 guidance to founders, CEOs, and HR leaders on recruitment strategy, talent acquisition, AI tooling, and scaling high-performing teams.• Executive Matching: Created and launched TechExec Connection, a first-of-its-kind service that pairs local executives with critical senior leadership roles that directly shape the growth trajectory of these fast-scaling ventures.• Workshops & Training: Design and facilitate sessions on hiring strategy, recruitment efficiency, candidate assessment, employer branding, and the latest AI tools.• Direct Hiring Support: Offer specialized advisory on interview operations, candidate assessment, and selection processes to improve hiring outcomes and reduce mis-hires. Make recommendations for ATS and AI tool adoption.
