ABOUT MALLORY J. BENNER
I represent public- and private-sector employers in complex employment litigation and insurance-related matters across state and federal courts in New Jersey and New York, as well as before administrative agencies. My litigation experience spans all phases of the process – from early case assessment and strategic planning through discovery, depositions, motion practice, mediation, and other forms of alternative dispute resolution, and trial. I regularly defends clients against claims involving wrongful termination, discrimination, harassment, retaliation, and whistleblower allegations. My administrative practice includes appearances before agencies such as the New Jersey Division on Civil Rights, the New York State Division of Human Rights, the New York City Commission on Human Rights, and the U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission. In addition to my litigation practice, I provide day-to-day counsel to employers on a wide range of workplace issues, including hiring and termination practices, internal investigations, workforce restructurings, and risk management strategies aimed at litigation prevention. I also routinely draft tailored employee handbooks, policies, and procedures to ensure compliance with evolving employment laws.Prior to joining GRSM, I gained valuable experience representing both employees and employers in all facets of labor and employment litigation at a law firm in Warren, New Jersey. I also advised boards of education on special education law and regularly appeared before the New Jersey Office of Administrative Law.I began my legal career as a judicial law clerk to the Honorable Nesle A. Rodriguez, P.J.F.P, in the Superior Court of New Jersey, Hudson County, where I assisted in drafting judicial opinions and facilitating resolutions in family law matters.I earned my J.D. from Rutgers Law School in 2019, where I served as an Articles Editor for the Rutgers University Law Review. I graduated magna cum laude from Hofstra University in 2016 with a B.A. in Criminology, and was a member of Hofstra’s NCAA Division I Women’s Soccer Team.
