About Mallory Haskins
I did not have one defining moment in which I knew I was going to be a doctor. For me, this decision was a process. A process of people, science, and introspection. I have always had a curiosity for the human body and how it functions. It is the connection between the body and the mind that ignited my interest in healthcare. A big part of understanding people is through building relationships and observing through a hands-on approach. I am a pre-med gap year student at the University of Richmond. I will graduate this May 2020 with a B.S. in Biology and a minor in Psychology. A few highlights of my career:• I have conducted 100+ hours of psychology research, studying the aging and well-being of people ages 18 to 103• Assisted with free STI clinics for undergrad students at University of Richmond through the Wellness Bandits • Served as a mentor to about 50 students in the orientation program• Built relationships with students through the orientation program and working in the Office of Admission• Immersed myself in the field of medicine during my semester abroad in Copenhagen, Denmark
