ABOUT MALISSA GAITAN

Malissa is an Assurance Director in PwC’s Asset and Wealth Management practice. She worked in the PwC’s Los Angeles, California office for over a decade and has recently relocated to PwC\'s Kansas City, Missouri office to continue leading teams to provide audit services to investment management clients. Her experience includes private equity/venture capital funds, fund-of-funds, hedge funds, real estate funds, REITs, SEC registered investments advisors, and investment companies.Malissa served a two-year tour in PwC\'s National Office as a consultant for AWM clients - helping large fund complexes and small privately held entities with complex investments, capital structures, and operational transactions. She has exposure to a variety of accounting, operational, and reporting issues involving the aforementioned fund products.Malissa is a graduate of Claremont McKenna College with a Bachelors of Arts in Economics-Accounting (Leadership Sequence) and participates in PwC campus recruiting. She is a licensed certified public accountant in California and a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, the International Thespian Society, and the National Honors Society. In 2022, she was selected as a Top 100 Accountants in the inaugural ceremony hosted by the Los Angeles Business Journal in partnership with California Society of CPAs/CalCPA Education Foundation. She is a PwC ambassador of UCI\'s LIFEvest Financial Literacy Program.
