ABOUT MALINA DUMAS
I advise businesses on the laws and regulations that impact cannabis and other highly regulated markets in Maine and nationwide. I have filed hundreds of successful applications for cannabis establishment licenses and help clients become operational as quickly and efficiently as possible. I assist clients with new license applications, renewals, and license amendments on a daily basis, and work with our national and global cannabis practice group at Dentons on complex transactions. Before becoming a lawyer, I was an international development professional in Washington, DC where I gained experience working with non-profits, government agencies, research institutions, and the private sector. Through my previous jobs and educational opportunities, I traveled to more than 40 countries and spent significant amounts of time in Eastern Europe living with host families and soaking up as much culture as possible. During law school, I developed an interest in the Arctic region. I was able to study an Inuit language through Skype lessons with a professor in Nunavut, Canada and take a number of classes that were focused on indigenous rights. Now I am back in my home state of Maine but connected to Dentons colleagues across the globe.
