ABOUT MALIKA J.

Malika is a passionate and dedicated social worker who integrates the intersections of social identity, such as race, gender, class, and sexuality, into her practice framework. She collaborates, supports, and advocates with individuals, families, and communities in the process of experiencing, adapting to, and overcoming life challenges.As a Registered Social Worker, Psychotherapist at Support & Growth, Malika provides counseling and therapy to clients with various mental health issues, such as anxiety, depression, trauma, and addiction. She uses evidence-based and culturally responsive approaches, such as cognitive-behavioral therapy, motivational interviewing, and anti-oppressive practice. She also works as a Disability Case Manager at Sun Life, where she assesses, monitors, and supports clients who are on short-term or long-term disability claims due to physical or mental health conditions. She coordinates with health care professionals, employers, and insurers to facilitate the clients\' recovery and return to work. Malika holds a Master of Social Work from the University of Windsor and a Bachelor of Child and Youth Care from Humber College. She is currently pursuing a certificate in Effective Workplace Responses to Mental Health at Pacific Coast University for Workplace Health Sciences.
