Connecting legislators with community allies, unions, organizations and stakeholders in their district to amplify shared goals and ensure their concerns are being brought back to the Capitol- Planning, promoting, and attending public events with, or on behalf, of the legislator. Also, inviting and notifying members of the public, panelists, and other attendees to the event- Creating town halls, listening sessions, and other community events in district. Providing that feedback from constituents to inform policy-making- Collaborating with state agencies, media & press, and other legislators to participate in legislative outreach events- Mastery in strategic communication to deliver party goals and overall legislative success- Creating talking points from the House Policy department, along with event memos and other handouts and materials for the legislator- Fluency in Canva and inDesign; creating mailers, graphics, and other social media promotional resources for legislators- Primary point of contact for the department to ensure efficiency throughout franking mail process; checking in with the mail room weekly to review mail data- Mentoring interns about the legislative process and the impact of community outreach.
