About Malia Young-Williams
Life rarely follows the straight path we envision for ourselves, and my journey has been no exception. After graduating from the College of Charleston with a BA in Public Health, I imagined a career in healthcare. Instead, I embraced the unknown and found myself navigating opportunities that pushed me out of my comfort zone and expanded my perspective. Over the years, I’ve worn many hats—Farmer, Caregiver, Bicycle Technician, Registered Orthopedic Technician, Venue Coordinator, Coach, Recruiter, and now, Human Resources Manager. Each role has taught me something invaluable, from adaptability and resilience to leadership and problem-solving. In my current role at Rumsey Construction & Restoration, I oversee HR and recruiting, where I focus on fostering a strong, people-first company culture while supporting growth and innovation. My passion lies in connecting with others, finding creative solutions, and building teams that thrive. I believe that adaptability is one of the most powerful tools anyone can have. It’s given me the freedom to learn, grow, and explore new possibilities, and I’m excited to see what’s next.
