ABOUT MOLLY MALECKAR
I am an Adjunct Research Professor at Simula Research Laboratory and Faculty at the Tulane University School of Medicine Heart and Vascular Institute, dedicated to bridging the gap between computational theory and clinical reality. My work at the Tulane Research Innovation for Arrhythmia Discovery (TRIAD) Center focuses on leveraging technology to solve the most pressing challenges in cardiovascular health. In my career, including a pivotal role at the Allen Institute for Cell Science, I have utilized multiscale physiological modeling, from stem cells and myocytes to organ-level simulations, to gain critical mechanistic insights into cardiac function and pathology. By integrating biophysical modeling with modern machine learning approaches, I strive to advance translational science at the intersection of technology, biology, and the clinic.I am a firm believer that the most impactful science is born from diverse, intersectional teams and a profound commitment to open science. My approach is intentionally global and interdisciplinary, seeking out concepts from both related and unrelated fields to guide innovation.Beyond research, I am a lifelong educator and mentor. I find immense satisfaction in scientific communication, honing the ability to translate complex technological concepts for diverse audiences to ensure that high-level research has a broad and lasting impact.Core Expertise:Computational Cardiac Physiology: Multiscale modeling and system-level investigation.Data-Driven Biomedicine: Machine learning, artificial intelligence, and biophysical simulation.Strategic Leadership: Building diverse teams and fostering academic-industry partnerships.Scientific Advocacy: High-impact open science and professional mentorship.
