Malcolm is a Senior Research Investigator in medicinal chemistry at Isomorphic Labs. He received both his MChem in Chemistry and PhD from the University of Manchester, Following this, he worked at Samsung (South Korea) in fundamental research, the University of Sydney (Australia), Vertex, Sosei Heptares and Isomorphic Labs (UK) in drug discovery. Author of 30 peer-reviewed publications and external presentations,>1,500 citations, and numerous prizes for teamwork and an individual Gold outstanding contribution award at Vertex for instrumental work in the synthesis of VX-548 (March 2019, Suzetrigine) which gained FDA approval in 2025.
