ABOUT MALCOLM MCPHAIL FCIMSPA

A motivated and dynamic industry leader that has a strong track record in the UK fitness and leisure sector.I have operated at Board level for 15 years and my strategic knowledge is supported with one of the best operating pedigrees in the industry. I have general managed one of the largest clubs in Europe (Next Generation Newhaven Harbour) and was a Group Operations Director at Next Generation during the trailblazing days that culminated in the purchase of David Lloyd Leisure Clubs.During my time at Life Leisure we won multiple national awards that include UK Best Medium Sized Leisure Centre 2017 and Best Overall Fitness Facility 2018.I am an inspirational and motivational speaker that has presented across Europe and in the United States. I have developed the pioneering PB=PB and RTB programmes that combine cultural development alongside strategic development (Agile Methodology). I am relentless, resilient and disciplined and a passionate and determined advocate of our magnificent industry.I have had Board roles at UKActive was the Senior Independant Director at CIMSPA.I was an international 400m hurdler and won numerous Scottish titles at 400m and 400 hurdles. I was the British County Champion in 1992. Fast forward almost 30 years and I was ranked 8th in the world for men aged over 50 at 200m so I guess I practice what I preach.I am currently available for consultancy roles in relation to operational, cultural and strategic development.
