Malcolm Butters is a prominent figure in commercial real estate development in South Florida. He is the co-founder and president of Butters Construction & Development, a firm involved in industrial, office, hotel, multifamily and retail property development, construction, leasing, and management. Over his 35-year career as co-founder of Butters, Butters has spearheaded the development of over 25 million square feet of commercial space valued at over $2 billion. Significant projects include as the 2.5 million-square-foot First Park Miami and the mixed-use Miami Midway Park, which contains 340 apartments and SF of industrial. Recognized for his innovative contributions, Butters has won the Developer of the Year award seven times from the NAIOP South Florida Chapter. In 2023, he received a Lifetime Achievement Award from NAIOP South Florida for his leadership and influence in the industry. His work emphasizes elevating architectural standards and fostering strong partnerships. Butters also supports education and the community. He has established scholarships at Florida International University and contributes to various real estate advisory councils, including at the University of Miami. Butters earned a Master’s Degree in Real Estate from Florida International University in 1983 and a Bachelor in Finance from the University of Miami in 1982.
