About Mala Sankarasubramanian
As a hardware engineer at Apple, I am responsible for the reliability of SoC packages, logic boards, and their integration into Mac and Data Center systems. With over ten years of experience in semiconductor & systems technology development, I have successfully led and contributed to various programs across different packaging and system architectures, from pathfinding to development to high-volume manufacturing.I\'ve engineered & shipped key products at Apple, including the 2024 Mac mini, MacBook Pro, and M4 Series SoCs; as well as the 2023 iMac, Mac Studio, Mac mini, Mac Pro, and M3/M2 Series SoCs. Previously at Intel, I contributed to developing, scaling, and delivering world-class CPU power delivery and semiconductor packaging technologies for the 10th, 11th, and 12th Gen Intel Core Processors.I have also co-authored 10 US patents, 13 peer-reviewed publications, and an invited handbook chapter for the American Society of Metals.A dedicated lifelong learner, I continue to extend my expertise beyond my PhD (~10 years ago), recently completing a UMD Graduate Certificate in Reliability Engineering and currently participating in the Stanford GSB LEAD program
