ABOUT MALAIKA CHENEY-COKER
How can creativity and the imagination renew and invigorate individuals, organizations, and societies? How can literature ground our psyches and help knit together our tattered social fabric? These are some of the questions that drive my recent professional contributions. They are, in turn, informed by over twenty-three years of international development and social justice experience and even longer as a writer of fiction and nonfiction. During my tenure in the social impact sector, I have specialized in such eclectic areas as impact-at-scale approaches, results measurement and organizational learning, thought leadership, coalition-building, applied creativity, and systems change. I am a proven path-blazer within unprecedented or crisis contexts, able to create a sense of possibility and to bring people together so that they can tap into their creativity and their collective strength. While known for certain areas of expertise, overall I am a proud generalist, eager to bridge disciplines and combine fields of thought for fresh thinking and better results.
