Lead outreach and alumni relations efforts for the Binghamton University Sports Management Group, driving initiatives that connect students with industry professionals and foster lasting engagement. ABOUT MAKSIM KAGAN
I am a sophomore business major with experience and success leading teams and projects in competitive environments. As the varsity head hockey coach at Chenango Forks High School, I recently led my program to a county championship while facilitating collegiate and junior hockey opportunities for my athletes, improved team win percentage by 27%, and continue to strengthen community and culture through fundraisers and program-wide initiatives. I also lead GOHL evaluations for Neutral Zone, utilizing Hudl Instat to produce detailed, objective reports and projections on top Canadian junior hockey players. My work focuses on clear skill evaluation, game habits, and identifying traits that translate to the next level. Additionally, I serve as VP of Outreach and Alumni Relations for Binghamton University’s Sports Management Group, connecting students, alumni, and industry professionals through events and partnerships. I am also involved with the Management Consulting Group, mentoring students pursuing consulting careers, judging case competitions, and working on strategy-driven projects that sharpen my analytical and decision-making skills. I have gained additional experience across sports business and operations, including athlete brand partnerships, game operations with the Binghamton Black Bears, and athletic communications with the Binghamton Athletic Department. I am interested in opportunities at the intersection of hockey, strategy, and organizational growth, and I welcome conversations with students and professionals across sports and business.
