ABOUT MACIEJ MAKALOWSKI
I’m a UI designer based in Berlin with a background in fine art and photography. I have a graduate degree in visual art and before studying UI design, I received a post-baccalaureate degree in graphic design. My visual art background has helped me gain a very good eye in composiHon, use of color, and aestheHcs. People are always complimenHng me on my use of color, whether it is in a painting, a photograph, in the way I dress, or the design for an app or website. My previous work experiences as a mental health counselor, photography instructor, operations manager, and hostel receptionist have prepared me in working with a variety of customers with many different needs. I have a user-centric approach to design and as a very empathetic person, I have an easy time seeing what customers and users would prefer and need. These jobs have also prepared me to be a great collaborator, a good listener, a good communicator, and to work calmly under stressful conditions. I am also in touch and familiar with the most recent and popular trends in design.
