   As a Foster Family Recruiter, I’m dedicated to implementing the “First Placement, Only Placement, Last Placement” strategy to ensure the stability and permanency of children and youth in South Carolina Youth and Adolescent Services (SCYAP) foster homes.My key responsibilities include identifying and developing targeted recruitment initiatives to address gaps in foster home availability. I focus on children and youth with complex needs, special needs, medical conditions, teenagers, LGBTQIA+ youth, and larger sibling groups.To determine the types of foster homes needed, I analyze internal and external data, considering demographics and referral information.I engage in extensive outreach to individuals, organizations, and communities that support children and youth in foster care, particularly those with specialized needs.Collaborating with the SCYAP Social Media and Marketing Coordinator, I create and distribute recruitment materials, including flyers, brochures, and advertisements.I develop and utilize various media platforms, including electronic, social, print, TV, and radio, for recruitment campaigns.Furthermore, I represent SCYAP at community events and meetings to promote recruitment initiatives.
